FAQ

Questions people ask

Asked more often than we would like. Answered once.

A man in a tie lies under a car propped on cinder blocks, a flashlight in his teeth and a butter knife in his hand.
Why is it $2.50 and not $5?
Because the other one is $5. That is the entire pricing study.
How do you stay in business?
Well, that is the question, isn't it?
What do I get for $2.50?
A line in a state database with our address on it. The line is real. The address is real. What happens at the address is not part of the $2.50.
Someone served papers at your address. Where are they?
At our address, presumably. We do not go there to check, and we do not check whether anyone does.
Will you tell me if I get sued?
We would have to know first. See the previous answer.
What is the most you would ever owe me?
Three months of fees, which at $2.50 a year is 62 and a half cents. If the trouble arrives after day ninety, three months of fees is nothing, because you paid it all on day one. We keep the 62 and a half cents either way.
Is there someone I can call?
There is a number. It rings somewhere. We have not established where.
Do you renew?
We do not do anything twice.
Can I cancel?
It ends on its own. You will not be notified, because notifying is a service.
Is any of this allowed?
The state pages quote what each state does about an agent who behaves like us. It is allowed right up until it is not, and then there is a fee.
Is there a pricier one? A cheaper one?
Eleven pricier. YOLO Registered Agents charges $5, twice our price for the identical nothing. They call it a plural. We call it markup. Tree Fiddy Registered Agents charges $3.50, a price for people who cannot commit. IDGAF Agents charges $24, which is not a price, it is a dare. One cheaper. IDGAF Registered Agents charges $1 and says it does not care, which is not a business model. It is a mood. None of them does anything we do not also not do. Mid Registered Agents charges $37 and calls it adequate. Mid Registered Agent charges $27, or whatever. Dogwater Registered Agents charges $17 and leaks. Dogwater Registered Agent charges $7 to be a bowl. Mid Wyoming Agents charges $22 for one state and Mid Wyoming Agent charges $12 for less of it. 19 Registered Agents and 19 Registered Agent both charge $19, which is one price with two websites. The Wyoming ones: Bucking Horse Agents at $0, Sagebrush Registered Agent at $2, World Registered Agents at $3, Tumbleweed Registered Agent at $4, Wind River Agents at $6, Epic Registered Agents at $8, Sagebrush Agents at $9, Bighorn Agents at $10, Big Sky Registered Agent Co. at $11, Ranch Hand Agents at $14, Prairie Registered Agent at $16, CRAWyoming at $19.99, High Sky Registered Agent at $21, Tumbleweed Agents at $23, Sky High Registered Agents at $26, Bison Registered Agent at $28, Sky High Registered Agent at $29, Registered Agents of WY at $30, Devils Tower Registered Agent at $31, Devils Tower Registered Agents at $32, High Sky Registered Agents at $33, Registered Agent of WY at $34, Big Sky Agent at $36, Antelope Agents at $38, Big Sky Registered Agent at $40, Ranch Registered Agent at $41, World Registered Agent at $42, Howdy Registered Agent at $43, Epic Registered Agent at $44 and X Registered Agents at $49. One state each, and the same nothing in it.
Is this real?
Real price, real terms, real statutes, real consequences. The service is the only thing that is not.
